{"id":314120,"date":"2023-02-16T14:18:04","date_gmt":"2023-02-16T09:18:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=314120"},"modified":"2023-02-16T18:48:59","modified_gmt":"2023-02-16T13:48:59","slug":"bail-petition-lhc-judge-warns-of-issuing-contempt-notice-to-imran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/bail-petition-lhc-judge-warns-of-issuing-contempt-notice-to-imran\/","title":{"rendered":"Bail petition: LHC judge warns of issuing contempt notice to Imran"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday warned of issuing a contempt notice against former prime minister Imran Khan on a petition seeking the PTI chief\u2019s protective bail in a case pertaining to protests outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).<\/p>\n<p>The remarks were passed by Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh after he noted that Imran\u2019s signatures on the affidavit \u2014 attached with the petition \u2014 and the power of attorney were different.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, an Islamabad anti-terrorism court \u2014 on grounds of non-appearance \u2014 rejected Imran\u2019s request for an extension in his interim bail in a case pertaining to violent protests outside the ECP after it disqualified him in the Toshakhana case.<\/p>\n<p>The PTI chief has been convalescing in his Zaman Park residence in Lahore ever since he was wounded in an assassination attempt during a pitstop his caravan made in Wazirabad while they were marching on Islamabad.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, the PTI chief had approached the LHC for interim protective bail, but the high court refused to grant the bail without his personal appearance and adjourned the petition till today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBring him on a stretcher or in an ambulance.
