\u201cImran Khan\u2019s deeds are about to be exposed,\u201d PML-N scion says while censuring PTI chief for avoiding court

\nPakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice-President and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz Saturday censured Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan for \u201chiding in a bunker\u201d and using \u201cwomen as a shield\u201d.
\nThe PML-N scion, during an informal discussion with journalists in Lahore, spoke about the PTI chief hiding inside a burrow and avoiding appearing in courts \u2014 in reference to the ex-prime minister residing at his Lahore residence and not appearing before the judges despite being repeatedly ordered to do so.
\nKhan, the country\u2019s deposed prime minister \u2014 whose government was ousted after a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly in April last year \u2014 announced kickstarting his party\u2019s \u2018Jail Bharo\u2019 (court arrest) movement from February 17, starting from Lahore.
\nThe PTI chairman\u2019s decision comes as he blames the Pakistan Democratic Movement-led coalition government for resorting to \u201cpolitical victimisation\u201d of his party\u2019s leaders.
\n\u201cWe will fill jails, they [authorities] will have no space left to hide,\u201d Khan said in his address to the nation via video link a day earlier.
\n\u201cImran Khan [came into power] through the establishment\u2019s support and is now trying to use the judiciary. His deeds are about to be exposed,\u201d Maryam said while also slamming the PTI for not leaving the \u201cbunker\u201d.
\nThe PML-N senior leader added that the PTI chief drafted a 12-year plan to rule the country; however, his plans were thwarted by her party\u2019s supremo Nawaz Sharif.
\n\u201cImran Khan wanted to make the next appointment, but could not do so,\u201d she said in an apparent reference to the army chief\u2019s appointment. \u201cNawaz Sharif did not panic and his [Khan\u2019s] plan failed,\u201d she claimed.
\nWithout naming anyone, the party\u2019s chief organiser spoke about \u201csome people\u201d, who are on their way out, trying for Khan\u2019s facilitation. \u201cNo institution is supporting Imran Khan. PTI\u2019s defeat is inscribed on the wall.\u201d
\nMaryam, while insisting that the PTI chief be held accountable, said people like him should not avoid accountability.
\n\u201cAccountability is not for revenge. We need to draw the line,\u201d she said while stressing the need to devise a future plan of action.
\nIn her bid to convince the judiciary, the PML-N senior vice-president said accountability doesn\u2019t weaken but strengthens institutions.
\nSpeaking about the possibility of elections, the PML-N leader said while she is preparing for elections, she doesn\u2019t care when they are taking place.
\n\u201cWe are ready whenever the election takes place. I am going to the public,\u201d Maryam said while claiming that her party is working hard and will win the polls.
\nCommenting on the rising levels of inflation, Maryam agreed that people will not respond well to it; however, she mentioned her government rebuilding the economy which the PTI-led administration in Islamabad had ruined.
\n\u201cThe country is under development. The focus should be on progress,\u201d she said while highlighting the PML-N\u2019s ideology of performance and how Pakistan will have to return to it.
