\nThe National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned former prime minister Imran Khan and other Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders on March 9 in the Toshakhana case.
\nAccording to details, the accountability watchdog summoned Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi and three other PTI leaders \u2013 Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry and Pervez Khattak \u2013 on March 9. The former first lady has also been told to appear in front of the bureau with complete record.
\nAccording to sources, the bureau has gathered all the Toshakhana record from the Cabinet Division and the Prime Minister Office. It has been reported that the NAB has also decided to send the investigation team to United Arab Emirates (UAE) for probe into Toshakhana case.
\nEarlier in the day, the watchdog on Tuesday sent a notification to Imran Khan at his Bani Gala residential address asking him to appear at NAB office on March 9. In its notice to the PTI chief, the anti-graft watchdog wrote:
\n\u201cThe competent authority has taken cognizance of an offence allegedly committed by the accused persons under the provisions of NAO, 1999.\u201d The NAB inquiry proceedings have revealed that during his stint as country\u2019s prime minister, he retained some state gifts presented to him by various foreign dignitaries.
\nThe gifts include: Rolex wristwatch no. M228206-0036, 43.6470; Rolex wristwatch no. M126331-0014, 2G367435; Rolex wristwatch no. M1I6700LS001,(999927K8) Oyster S; One iPhone presented by Qatar\u2019s army chief dated 14\/11\/2018; Rolex wristwatch no. Yacht-Master, Oyster, Serial no.068A7072.
\nModel 116680; Rolex wristwatch (No.E67574V3), pair of cufflinks, one ring, and unstitched cloth of pants and coat from the crown prince of Saudi Arabia dated 18\/09\/2020; and Graff gift set containing one Graff wristwatch Master Graff Special Edition Mecca Timepiece, One 18K gold and diamond Graff Pen, ring, and pair of cufflinks with a micro painting of Mecca.
\nThe anti-graft watchdog asked the deposed prime minister to appear before the combined investigation team at its Islamabad office on March 9 and record his statement in this regard. Earlier, the Sessions Court postponed the indictment of PTI chairman Imran Khan in the criminal proceedings in the Toshakhana reference. The court accepted Imran Khan\u2019s plea for exemption from attendance.
\nAddressing the Imran Khan\u2019s counsel, the court remarked that they have been continuously been accepting the client\u2019s requests. It directed the counsel to bring the client on the next date of hearing.
