{"id":315304,"date":"2023-02-22T13:58:08","date_gmt":"2023-02-22T08:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=315304"},"modified":"2023-02-22T13:58:08","modified_gmt":"2023-02-22T08:58:08","slug":"pml-n-to-seek-recusal-of-biased-sc-judges-in-cases-against-nawaz-others-sanaullah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/pml-n-to-seek-recusal-of-biased-sc-judges-in-cases-against-nawaz-others-sanaullah\/","title":{"rendered":"PML-N to seek recusal of \u2018biased\u2019 SC judges in cases against Nawaz, others: Sanaullah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Wednesday that PML-N\u2019s legal team will be approaching two judges of the Supreme Court to recuse themselves from hearing the cases against the party leadership.<\/p>\n<p>In a series of tweets, Sanaullah named the judges and alleged that they \u201chave a biased attitude towards the PML-N\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Sanaullah recalled that one of the judges had been the supervising judge in cases against party supremo Nawaz Sharif and \u201cwe have no expectations of justice from him\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He also mentioned a purported audio leak related to the second judge, saying that it had \u201craised questions on his impartiality\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The minister went on to say that both judges had passed \u201copposing\u201d verdicts in dozens of cases against Nawaz and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, including Panama, Ramzan Sugar Mills, and Pakpattan Land Allotment (against the Sharifs\u2019 family members).<\/p>\n<p>He said it was a legal and judicial tradition that \u201ccontroversial\u201d judges voluntarily recused themselves from the bench at the request of the aggrieved party.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe legal team of PML-N will ask the two judges to recuse themselves from the benches hearing the cases of Nawaz Sharif and other leaders of the party,\u201d Sanaullah stated, adding that the two judges will be asked not to hear cases of the PML-N.<\/p>\n<p>The development comes a day after PM Shehbaz completed consultation with the legal brains of the government during a meeting on Tuesday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Wednesday that PML-N\u2019s legal team will be approaching two judges of the Supreme Court to recuse themselves from hearing the cases against the party leadership.
