{"id":315817,"date":"2023-02-25T08:50:51","date_gmt":"2023-02-25T03:50:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=315817"},"modified":"2023-02-25T08:50:51","modified_gmt":"2023-02-25T03:50:51","slug":"attempts-being-made-to-sabotage-wazirabad-jit-findings-imran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/attempts-being-made-to-sabotage-wazirabad-jit-findings-imran\/","title":{"rendered":"Attempts being made to sabotage Wazirabad JIT findings: Imran"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> ISLAMABAD<br \/>\nFormer prime minister and PTI chief Imran Khan on Friday claimed that attempts are being made to sabotage findings of the joint investigation team (JIT) probing failed assassination attempt on his life.<br \/>\nImran had sustained multiple injuries in the gun attack in Wazirabad on November 3 last year while leading his \u2018Haqeeqi Azadi\u2019 march towards Islamabad.<br \/>\nOne person died in the shooting, while several members of the PTI chairman\u2019s close circle, including Faisal Javaid, Imran Ismail, Ahmad Chattha and Imran Yousaf were also injured.<br \/>\n\u201cIf anyone still has any doubts about who was responsible for my assassination attempt, just see what is happening with the JIT report submitted before the anti-terrorist court,\u201d the former premier wrote on his official Twitter handle today.<br \/>\n\u201cAttempts to sabotage findings of the JIT in its report through deliberate tampering are now underway,\u201d he claimed.<br \/>\nThe ex-PM said prosecutor general, after an independent inquiry, had found four officers guilty of destroying evidence and sought action against them.<br \/>\n\u201cBut powerful forces have made Punjab Caretaker govt reconstitute the JIT to include all 4 of these officers with one of them, Syed Khurram Ali, as Convener,\u201d he added. Important record pertaining to the investigation of the attack on the former prime minister in Wazirabad has gone missing from the Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE).<br \/>\nThe record contained the investigation files of the joint investigation team (JIT) formed to probe the assassination bid.<br \/>\nAn ACE officer, Anwar Shah, was a member of the JIT, and was looking after the record at the vigilance cell.
