Says justice first, elections later, demands redressal of injustice against Nawaz

\nPakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior vice president and chief organiser Maryam Nawaz Monday said that the elections will be held after former prime minister Nawaz Sharif\u2019s sentence is annulled and bringing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan to justice.
\nAddressing a workers\u2019 convention in Sahiwal, the PML-N chief organizer fired off a fresh tirade at judiciary and PTI Chairman Imran Khan, saying that elections would be held after accountability.
\nThe PML-N leader lambasted the PTI chairman for violating the agreement with International Monetary Fund (IMF), saying that Imran Khan was responsible for bringing the country on the verge of bankruptcy.
\nShe remarked that former prime minister Imran Khan\u2019s alleged facilitators knew he was incompetent, incapable and damaging for the country, yet they imposed him and destroyed Pakistan in Nawaz Sharif\u2019s hatred.
\n\u201cThe country would have defaulted if we had violated the IMF agreement like Imran khan.\u201d \u201cWe will have to hold the watch thief \u2018Fitna Khan\u2019 accountable before the elections. Remnants of Faiz Hameed is still saving Imran Khan who is still fleeing from courts,\u201d she maintained.
\nShe also demanded redressal of \u2018injustice\u2019 against her father and PML-N head Nawaz Sharif, saying that elections will be held after the conviction of Nawaz Sharif is overturned. \u201cThe elections will definitely be held only after compensating for the injustices meted out to PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif,\u201d she remarked.
\nThe PML-N leader also lambasted the five-member \u2018Panama bench\u2019, disqualified her father, alleging: \u201cThe five notorious judges disliked Nawaz and sought revenge from him.\u201d \u201cNawaz Sharif took Pakistan on the path of development, but then he was disqualified in the Panama case,\u201d she said, pointing out that the economic and development achievements of Nawaz Sharif\u2019s previous governments.
\nShe further alleged that the \u2018Panama bench\u2019 had been created by former ISI chief Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed. She also acknowledged that the PML-N may have suffered politically for the time being, but claimed the party stopped Pakistan from becoming Sri Lanka.
\nMaryam Nawaz added that elections will be held for sure, but first there will be justice, Nawaz get justice in fake cases and Imran Khan brought to book for all his alleged thefts. \u201cThe elections will be held after PTI Chairman Imran Khan will be measured on the same standards of justice set for Nawaz Sharif,\u201d she added.
\nMaryam also accused the judiciary of having dual standards, saying, \u201cPanama case proceedings were held on a daily basis while proceedings of Imran\u2019s cases are moving at a snail\u2019s pace\u201d.
\nShe claimed that the PTI chief was running away from courts, making excuses over his plaster every time he was summoned. \u201cFirst, he [Khan] will appear in courts in all the cases against him and then elections will be held\u201d, she added.
\nThe PML-N chief organiser also expressed reservations over some of the judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan larger bench formed to take up the suo motu notice on delay in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections, adding that the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has also expressed reservations about these judges.
\nMaryam also brought up the leaked audio clip of former judge Arshad Malik, who sentenced former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in the assets beyond means case. The PML-N leader advised Imran Khan to select the election symbol of a \u2018rat\u2019 instead of a \u2018bat\u2019 for dodging courts.
\nSpeaking at the convention, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah claimed that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif will take the country out of the economic woes after the latter\u2019s return from London
\nSanaullah slammed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, saying, \u201cImran\u2019s Jail Bharo Movement has been denounced by the masses.\u201d He blamed Mr Khan for several crises, saying the deposed premier had been busy staging protests, the long march, and the \u201cJail Bharo Movement\u201d for the past eight months.
\nHe believed the country was suffering not only from an economic but also from a constitutional crisis. The Interior Minister, who lavished praise on PML-N senior vice president Maryam Nawaz, stated that Ms Nawaz\u2019s role will be important in getting rid of Mr Khan.
