\nDrug control team along with district administration and police raided a factory producing spurious drugs and seized a huge cache of fake medicines and machinery on Monday.
\nThe raid was conducted on the direction of Directorate of Drug Control and Pharmacy Services Department of Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said a handout.
\nAccording to the statement, Drug Control Mardan team led by Drug Inspector Dr Safiullah, Abdul Rauf and Haroon Rasheed along with the district administration and local police conducted a raid on information in Samar Bagh area of Nisata Road.
\nThe team recovered fake drugs and machinery used in making the spurious drugs from a house.
\nThe Directorate General Drug Control and Pharmacy Service has launched crackdowns on units involved in make fake and spurious drugs and held several accused for counterfeit drugs in the province and arrest distributors and retailers.
\nThe officials have directed that medicines should be purchased from authorized agents to eliminate the possibility of fake medicines with prescribed warranty.
