The federal government has imposed an additional burden of Rs76 billion on electricity consumers. An additional surcharge of Rs3.39 per unit has been imposed on power customers.<br \/>\nThe Power Division has issued an official notification of the surcharge. The surcharge will be levied on the consumers from March to June. The total surcharge will increase to Rs3.82 per unit.<br \/>\nCurrently, electricity consumers are paying a surcharge of 43 paisa per unit.
