\nWorst inflation, dollar crisis, material shortage, pharmaceutical companies are near to closure, medicine crisis in Pakistan and fear of the unemployment of millions of people, an increase in the prices is inevitable. Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Association (PPMA) sounded the alarm If the government does not pay attention, not only industries will be closed, but medicines will become extinct and millions of people will become unemployed.
\nThese views were expressed by Syed Farooq Bukhari, Chairman of PPMA. , Ex-Chairman and Ex-Senior Vice-President FPCCI Khawaja Shahzaib Akram, Mirza Abdul Rehman Chairman Coordination FPCCI Capital Office, Captain Nadeem Zafar, Zahid Saeed Ex-Chairman PPMA and Ex-Vice-President FPCCI, Mian Asad Shuja, Arshad Mehmood, Tawqeer-ul-Haq, Dr. Faisal Khokhar, Hamid Raza Ex-Chairmen along with More than 100 leaders and company owners including Iram Shakir, and Ayesha Demi from Pharma Bureau held a press conference at FPCCI Capital Office.
\nThey are unanimous in the view that the value of the dollar has increased due to which the raw material has become very expensive. The enforcement of the government to sell medicines at a low price will brook the supply chain and cause sewer crises.
\nThey said that due to the increase in the prices of raw materials, printing materials, electricity, oil, the pharma companies are suffering from severe problems and there is a fear of closing down due to losses. Syed Farooq Bokhar and Khawaja Shahzaib Akram and others further said that due to the increase in sales tax and the dollar rate, the shortage of raw materials for medicines has resulted in the shortage of medicines.
\nThey further said if the local industries are closed, the government will have to import medicines from foreign countries to cater to the country\u2019s demands this will be a heavy burden on the national exchequer.
\nThere is fear due to which a bigger crisis than Corona may arise. Due to the non-availability of medicines, deaths can occur, so it is necessary to maintain the supply chain by increasing the prices of medicines. The participants are of the view, If the government does not pay immediate attention, a major crisis of medicines may arise in the country.
\nThey said that it is an international practice that the relevant industry always determines the price of anything in the world, while in Pakistan the government has kept its strict control on the industry which may cause the destruction of the industries.
