Asks government to file treason case in SC against Imran Khan
\nLAHORE
\nThe ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President and chief organizer Maryam Nawaz Sharif declared on Sunday that elections are a solution to all the problems, but political stability was needed for them.
\nAddressing a gathering of the PML-N\u2019s lawyers wing at her residence at Jati Umra on Sunday, she categorically stated that the PML-N was not scared of elections. She called out the judiciary over its alleged preferential treatment towards PTI chief Imran Khan.
\nMaryam further alleged that she had such information about certain people in the Lahore High Court that if it comes out, it will create chaos. The PML-N leader said Imran Khan gets bail in 12 cases in 5 minutes, on the other hand, injustices were done against her father ever.
\n\u201cHe abrogated the Constitution and the Supreme Court of Pakistan ruled against him, but he got off scot-free, and the state looked on. However, such an act calls for trial under Article 6,\u201d she complained.
\nShe further claimed the Election Commission of Pakistan\u2019s decision in the prohibited funding case mentioned irrefutable evidence, yet no court touched him.
\n\u201cOn the other hand, Nawaz Sharif and I, and even Rana Sanaullah went to court without any armed mobs, surrendered before the law and suffered imprisonment. Why is Imran getting favorable treatment? Who is still protecting him?\u201d she questioned.
\nMaryam further called Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi\u2019s note to the CJP for a suo motu notice on the delay in provincial elections, as well as the consequent verdict controversial.
\n\u201cIf judges are corrupt, sold out, facilitating someone, they should be proceeded against. Audios have been leaked to prove it. There cannot be selective application of the Constitution,\u201d the PML-N leader stated.
\nMaryam Nawaz also demanded her party\u2019s government file a treason case against PTI\u2019s Imran Khan in Supreme Court of Pakistan for violating the constitution. She said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman openly broke the constitution but was allowed to go home.
\nMaryam said her party PML-N will contest the election and win. She said injustices were done against Nawaz Sharif. Maryam said Imran Khan is in trouble due to his daughter Tyrian\u2019s case in the court. She said Imran Khan did not buy gifts from Tosha Khana but stole. She said in Zaman Park, policemen\u2019s heads were injured and petrol bombs were thrown at the police by PTI workers.
\nTalking about the postponed elections, Maryam asked that if the polls to Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies were held, who would guarantee that if the PML-N wins in Punjab, Imran Khan will accept the verdict? If the PTI wins in KP, what is the guarantee he will not dissolve the assembly?
\n\u201cImran Khan has been launched by foreign superpowers to create chaos and anarchy,\u201d she alleged, adding the state will have to forcefully stop him. \u201cThe state cannot be held hostage to his whims.\u201d Earlier, addressing the gathering, she sought the lawyers\u2019 support for her party, herself, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif. \u201cIn this crisis situation, Pakistan needs you.\u201d
\n\u201cThe politics of the PML-N centers around various appointments. First they relied on the establishment and now the judiciary. They tried to make the army chief\u2019s appoint controversial. They have always depended on facilitators. Now, they are banking on the remnants of the former establishment to save them.\u201d
\nMaryam further took potshots at Imran Khan, saying he brazenly, blatantly flouted the law, did not honor the judiciary when it summoned him. \u201cBut when he did, he attacked the Lahore High Court and the Islamabad Judicial Complex with armed mobs. In comparison to Nawaz Sharif, he hasn\u2019t even been touched. Nawaz was ousted on the basis of an expired iqama.
\nGen Bajwa has also allegedly said judges make decisions on their wives\u2019 suggestions. The families of former CJPs Justice Khosa and Nisar knew about the Panama verdict before time and even celebrated it later. This made a mockery of law.\u201d
