\nChairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah said recent torrential rains, heavy winds, storms have wreaked havoc, destroying standing wheat and other crops in Punjab and other parts of the country.
\nShah demanded the federal and provincial governments to announce special compensation for the farming community.
\nThe ATP chairman called upon the federal and provincial governments to immediately pay heed to issues that were being faced by farmers, traders\u2019 community and poor masses.
\nHe stressed the ruling coalition government and opposition should jointly sort out solutions to all issues and take immediate decisions by staying away from non-issues and unnecessary politics.
\nFaiq questioned: \u201cIf the parliament held talks on personal interests, why not take initiative to steer the country out from the present crisis?
\nShah was chairing a meeting of the party\u2019s executive committee here on Sunday.
\nThe party chief said that torrential rains, strong wind, storms and heavy snowfall vastly damaged the crops in various districts of Punjab.
\nHe continued to say that farmers are highly worrisome and searching for ways to make their crops cultivable.
\nThe party leader suggested that a comprehensive network with assistance of modern technology should be designed to make the damaged crops cultivable.
\nHe added farmers should be given special instructions through this network in every area and district.
\nOtherwise, he warned the country will face food scarcity.
\nFaiq said incumbent caretaker government and administration has kept focus on politics.
\nHe said agriculture, industry and businesses have completely destroyed the country.
\nFaiq said poor masses are dying for sake of one flour bag, saying that it is not a public services but government is compelling people on suicides.
\nShah observed that natural gas and electricity were unavailable to the faithful during Sehr and Aftar in the holy month of Ramazan.
