{"id":32233,"date":"2018-10-12T18:24:05","date_gmt":"2018-10-12T08:24:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=32233"},"modified":"2018-10-12T18:24:05","modified_gmt":"2018-10-12T08:24:05","slug":"all-judges-will-be-held-accountable-cjp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/all-judges-will-be-held-accountable-cjp\/","title":{"rendered":"All judges will be held accountable: CJP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD : Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Friday remarked that the Supreme Judicial Council is \u201cvery active now\u201d and the process of accountability has begun.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll judges will be held accountable now,\u201d the chief justice said while heading a bench hearing a case pertaining to the Lahore High Court\u2019s supervisory role over lower courts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople have been crying and dying but are not getting injustice,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The top judge added, \u201cSupreme Court\u2019s bench number 1 has wrapped up 7,000 cases but when we ask judges they say only 20 cases have been wrapped up.<\/p>\n<p>Further, Justice Nisar warned, \u201cThose judges, who issue verdicts on very few cases, will also be tried under Article 209.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A day earlier, President Arif Alvi removed Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui from the post of Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge in the light of a recommendation by the Supreme Judicial Council.<\/p>\n<p>The SJC had recommended removal of Justice Siddiqui from his office over his controversial speech before the District Bar Association, Rawalpindi on 21 July, 2018. Justice Siddiqui in his speech had blamed the higher judiciary for the country&#8217;s &#8216;deplorable&#8217; state of affairs.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD :
