The bar council in a press statement expressed concern over the division among Supreme Court judges. The PBC held that a full court should hear the case to save the country from anarchy. \u201cTo maintain the dignity of the judiciary, political parties should avoid character assassination of judges, the PBC added. It insisted upon abstaining from criticizing the judges while deliberating upon the judgments. \u201cThe judges should not be targeted.\u201d   The bar observed that rules should be framed regarding the power of suo moto. \u201cTo maintain the reputation and harmony of the judiciary, a committee should be constituted for the formation of benches,\u201d the council stressed.  The Pakistan Bar Council further observed that the higher judiciary should not interfere in political matters for the supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law. The PBC lamented that the suo moto regarding the elections in Punjab and KP was taken on a political issue.
