{"id":323407,"date":"2023-04-03T05:27:22","date_gmt":"2023-04-03T00:27:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=323407"},"modified":"2023-04-03T05:27:22","modified_gmt":"2023-04-03T00:27:22","slug":"three-british-men-being-held-in-afghanistanuk-non-profit-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/three-british-men-being-held-in-afghanistanuk-non-profit-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Three British men being held in Afghanistan:UK non-profit group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> ISLAMABAD<br \/>\nThree British men have been detained by the Taliban in Afghanistan, UK non-profit group the Presidium Network said on Saturday.<br \/>\nThe group said on Twitter it had been \u201cworking closely with two of the families\u201d.<br \/>\n\u201cWe are working hard to secure consular contact with British nationals detained in Afghanistan and we are supporting families,\u201d the UK\u2019s foreign ministry added in a statement.<br \/>\nScott Richards of the Presidium Network told Sky News: \u201cWe believe they are in good health and being well treated.<br \/>\n\u201cWe have no reason to believe they\u2019ve been subject to any negative treatment such as torture and we\u2019re told that they are as good as can be expected in such circumstances.\u201d<br \/>\nThere had been \u201cno meaningful contact\u201d between authorities and the two men Presidium is assisting, he added.<br \/>\nThese two men are believed to have been held by the Taliban since January. It is not known how long the third man has been held for.<br \/>\nMedia reports named the men as charity medic Kevin Cornwell, 53, an unnamed manager of a hotel for aid workers, and YouTube star Miles Routledge.<br \/>\nPresidium on Twitter urged the Taliban to be \u201cconsiderate of what we believe is a misunderstanding and release these men\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD Three British men have been detained by the Taliban in Afghanistan, UK non-profit group the Presidium Network said on Saturday.
