\nDavid Moyes has urged relegation-threatened West Ham to \u201cstand up and be counted\u201d as he battles to save his job following a 5-1 mauling at home against Newcastle.
\nThe Scottish manager admitted his job was on the line after the midweek capitulation, which left the Hammers outside the drop zone on goal difference alone, but he retains support of the club\u2019s hierarchy for now.
\n\u201cI was just trying to make a point,\u201d Moyes said Friday, on the eve of his team\u2019s match at Fulham. \u201cWe\u2019re in an industry where we can quite easily lose our jobs.
\n\u201cThat\u2019s the way it happens and, if you\u2019re not winning, it\u2019s always possible.
\n\u201cI\u2019m no different from anybody else. We\u2019ve just got to try and get on with the job and win the next game.\u201d
\nHe added: \u201cPeople said Everton was \u2018must not lose\u2019 and we won that one. They said Nottingham Forest was \u2018must not lose\u2019 and we won that one. Then it was Southampton, we had to win against Southampton.
\n\u201cWhen you\u2019ve put that title on us, we\u2019ve stood up and been counted. If you\u2019re giving me that title again, I hope we can stand up and be counted this time.\u201d
\nA record 13 managerial changes have already taken place in the Premier League this season.
\nBut Moyes has been given time after leading West Ham into Europe for the past two seasons.
\nDespite their Premier League struggles, the Hammers have won all 10 games to progress to the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League.
\nMoyes, 59, said management was \u201clike a drug\u201d despite the stresses of the job. \u201cThis is why you see Roy Hodgson coming back when he\u2019s 75 (to Crystal Palace) and Neil Warnock coming back, and so many people who are in the game and the journey they are on.
\n\u201cThey continue to stay on it because they\u2019ve got a great love for the game and they want to stay in it.\u201d The Hammers will take on a Fulham side without their star man Aleksandar Mitrovic.
