Five senior leaders criticized party policies, take digs at PML-N leaders openly at public gatherings, says notice
\n PESHAWAR
\nThe Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday served notice on its own senior leaders from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for openly criticizing the policies and decisions of the party and taking digs at senior leadership on various forums of the media.
\nPML-N KP general secretary Murtaza Javed Abbasi issued a show-cause notice to Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbasi, Zafar Iqbal Jhagra, Arbab Khizar Hayat, Farid Mufakir Khan and Esal Khan.
\nAs per the notice copy of which is available with this scribe stated that a show-cause notice to five leaders of the PML-N, telling them that they had \u201cgrossly violated discipline by giving statements against party policies guidelines and openly revolting against the party decisions\u201d.
\n \u201cIn violation of party discipline, revolting against the party decisions, creating grouping, , and speaking against the party leadership on various media outlets you have been served notice,\u201d the notice reads.
\nIt is pertinent to mention here that Sardar Mehtab Abbasi and Zafar Iqbal Jhagra are considered as the most senior members of PML-N in the province and known as great assets of the party in KP.
\nMr Jhagra served as the 28th Governor KP and previously served as Senator as well as Secretary General of the party.
\nSimilarly, Sardar Mehtab has also served as Governor from 2014 to 2016 in the province and Chief Minister from 1997 to 1999. As a strong political affiliation with PML-N, he was federal minister for Railway in 2008.
\nThe Secretary General Murtaza Javed Abbasi has asked the above-mentioned leaders of the party to furnish their written replies within 15 days.
\n\u201cYou are required to submit separate replies within 15 days of this notice. If failed to satisfy the party your party memberships would be cancelled.
\nAccording to sources, a new faction under the leadership of veteran activists of the party has emerged in the PML-N KP chapter.
\nThe sources predicted that before the general elections the party in the province would split into two groups due to internal differences.
\nThe differences started in the provincial chapter of PML-N when the party came into power in the centre in coalition with other major political parties, they added and said that the incumbent provincial president of the party has also a very key role in the ongoing differences in the party.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
