LAHORE
\nThe interim Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Raza Naqvi, chaired a high-level meeting on Monday to discuss the ongoing police operation against terrorists in the Kacha area of Rahim Yar Khan.
\nDuring the briefing, it was revealed that the area was home to several terrorist organizations, and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) presented a report on their presence. The attendees were informed that strong evidence had been collected regarding the terrorist organizations\u2019 contacts with external enemies.
\nFor the first time, Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab police were conducting a joint operation against these terrorists. It was decided in the meeting that more than 11,000 Punjab police personnel would participate in the operation, and permanent infrastructure would be established by eradicating the terrorists\u2019 hideouts.
\nThe interim CM directed the authorities to send mobile hospitals and ambulances to the area. A comprehensive plan was also prepared to build bridges, roads, and checkpoints in the region to establish the writ of the state.
\nExpressing his gratitude to the Pakistan Army for providing modern weapons and technology for the operation, Mr Naqvi congratulated the Rahim Yar Khan District Police Officer and the investigation team for safely recovering two kidnapped children from Khanpur.
\nHe further added that the terrorists challenging the government\u2019s writ in the Kacha area would not find a place to hide, and the facilitators of terrorists would also be brought under the law. Mr Naqvi praised the police team for their professionalism in rescuing the abducted children.
\nThe meeting was attended by officials from Joint DG Intelligence Bureau, CTD, Special Branch, Punjab Operations Additional IGs, and other agencies.
