\nChairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah while commenting on enforcement of law and heavy fines to halt smuggling of wheat, flour, sugar and essential commodities and 2 years imprisonment on Tuesday chided the governments not paying attention to enhance agricultural yields in the country which may cause of serious food scarcity issue.
\nHe demanded enforcement of emergency for a decade to secure agricultural production, utilizing modern technology and in the field of education, skilling development and training so that dragon that has been creating problems of food for more than 230million population of the country to be ejected.
\nThe party chief urged all stakeholders to make prompt decisions for nation building and the future of the country.
\nHe added youths and natural reserves are the main source of the country\u2019s development, which should be exploited in an efficient manner.
\nWhether there are water reservoirs or exploration of oil and gas reserves, concrete planning should be made to make Pakistan financially self-reliant and bring sustainable progress and development, Shah stressed.
\nFaiq said reduction in production of wheat, fruits and agriculture products was due to ill-attention of the all governments, calling it as criminal negligence of the rulers and policymakers, which is unpardonable.
\nAgricultural yields are reducing every year as compared to the preceding period, the ATP chief noted.
\nHe condemned the building of housing societies on agricultural lands throughout the country.
\nCultivable lands have been deliberately made futile by raising high plazas and buildings, he added.
\nHe continued to say that a specific mafia has been involved in this illicit business.
\nThe ATP chairman said people must hold all those rulers accountable for their apathy and usurping rights of farmers, labour and ruining resources.
\nHe lamented farmers neither provide due price of their yields nor facilities which is a matter of grave concern.
\nOn the other hand, Shah said no visible policy has been designed for promotion of the education sector.
\nHe said skillful youth are leaving the country, which is a huge dilemma and alarming one.
