\nChief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir spent Eidul Fitr with troops deployed along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border at Bajaur and paid rich tributes to martyrs.
\nHe said we should not forget those who sacrificed their lives for the defence of motherland and eradication of menace of terrorism.
\nAccording to the military\u2019s media wing, the army chief offered Eid prayers with officers and troops deployed at the border and appreciated their high morale. He stated that the army was committed to defending the frontiers and was always ready to thwart any threat to ensure the territorial integrity of Pakistan.
\n\u201cFor the defenders of Pakistan, irrespective of difficult terrains or weather and despite being away from loved ones, duty takes precedence. Nothing is more sacred than guarding the frontiers of our beloved country,\u201d he said.
\nThe COAS paid rich tribute to martyred soldiers and emphasised that those who laid their lives for the \u201cdefence of the motherland and eliminating the scourge of terrorism must not be forgotten\u201d.
\nGen Munir also extended well wishes to the families of the martyrs on the occasion and appreciated the operational vigil of troops guarding the border.
