ISLAMABAD
\nTwo suicide bombers blew themselves up while another terrorist was killed during a counter-terrorism operation carried out by police in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s Lakki Marwat district on Monday.
\nThe operation was launched by local police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Pahar Khel Thal, a village on the outskirts of Lakki Marwat, against terrorists.
\nDuring the operation, as many as three terrorists were killed including two suicide bombers who blew themselves up and another terrorist was killed in an exchange of fire with police officials.
\nTwo CTD officials, Inspector Javed and ASI Irfan, were also injured in the gunfight with militants and shifted to Government City Hospital.
\nEarlier this month, eight terrorists were killed and two soldiers martyred in an intelligence-based operation in the Zarmilan area of South Waziristan district.
\nAccording to a statement issued by military\u2019s media wing, the ISPR, on April 15, an \u201cintense exchange of fire took place\u201d between the security forces and terrorists during the operation.
\n\u201cOur own troops effectively engaged the terrorists\u2019 location. Resultantly, eight terrorists were sent to hell,\u201d the Inter-Services Public Relations stated. Two soldiers (Lance Naik Shoaib Ali, 25, a resident of Parachinar in Kurran district, and Sepoy Rafiullah, 22, a resident of Lakki Marwat district) embraced martyrdom after fighting gallantly in the gun battle with militants, it dded.
