\nChairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah said on Saturday that the incumbent coalition government has snatched people\u2019s right to live, as he lashed out at it over rising inflation.
\nHe said people\u2019s purchasing power has died owing to the burgeoning increase in prices of essential food items.
\nElectricity and gas tariffs are consistently increasing, making it hard for inflation-hit people to pay heavily-taxed utility bills, he added.
\nShah also criticized the government for increasing prices of medicines by 20 percent.
\nHe continued to say that poor people are becoming poorest and rich people becoming richest.
\nThe ATP chairman said those people who came to the country from abroad to set the national economy in the right direction have miserably failed.
\nFaiq while talking to various delegations here at the party\u2019s main office noted the economic situation is deteriorating with each passing day.
\nHe said USD has continuously strengthened against PKR, while foreign exchange reserves are depleting gradually.
\nA declining trend is also witnessing in export, trade and industrialization, he added.
\nHe added traders, industrialists, labour, daily wagers, working\/salaries class are highly upset owing to the prevailing circumstances.
\nShah emphasized a joint roadmap should be devised to put the national economy on the right track.
\nHe suggested a collective board comprising all institutions and stakeholders should be constituted wherein consistent and durable policies to be formulated.
\nThe party leader observed that political instability has pushed the country many years back.
\nHe said neighbouring countries are heading toward rapid progress but negative growth is witnessing in every sector in Pakistan.
\nFaiq slammed leaders of political parties for making pessimistic statements about the outcome of the ongoing government and opposition talks to end the prolonged political standoff.
\nThe ATP chairman asked the political parties to sense the gravity of the situation and conclude the dialogue with a joint national agenda to pave the way for elections in the country.
