Chaudhry Shujaat calls for removal of officers involved in the raid; says he has asked his sons to be patient
\n LAHORE
\nPakistan Muslim League-Quaid President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain expressed his opinion over the raid at his residence carried out by the Punjab police and called the operation \u2018intolerable\u2019.
\nHe said the police went to the house of Parvez Elahi but they were told that Mr Elahi was in the house Chaudhry Shujaat\u2019s residence. Then, Mr Shujaat added, the police carried a raid at his house and his two sons got injured in the operation. Chaudhry Salik Hussain\u2019s hand was stitched due to injuries, he said.
\nThe PML-Q president said the police came to arrest Mr Elahi regarding corruption of billion of rupees in Gujrat\u2019s projects and claimed neither he nor his sons had anything to do with the case.
\nHe stressed that the method of operation at his outside was unacceptable adding those involved should be held responsible. He said he did not want to go in details of the operation at this time as the country was already looking for stability.
\n\u201cLooking at the current circumstances of the country, I don\u2019t want to say anything that could further deteriorate the situation at the national level. Pakistan is engulfed in many problems and some people want to exploit this issue to worsen matters,\u201d he said.
\nA police and ACE raiding team had conducted a raid at Elahi\u2019s Gulberg residence, late on Friday night, and arrested 12 people. The raiding party used an armoured vehicle to break open the main gate of the residence after facing resistance.
\nHowever, the ACE team could not find Elahi, even after thoroughly searching the house. Also, Punjab caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi that no illegal will be allowed by anyone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
