\nPakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice-President and Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz on Monday lambasted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan and said that the elections will be held in October.
\n\u201cImran Khan\u2019s plan to dissolve assemblies has failed and elections will be held in October,\u201d said PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz while addressing the PML-N Labour Wing convention in Lahore in connection with International Labour Day Monday.
\nMaryam Nawaz has called on Imran Khan to have some mercy on Pakistan by abandoning conspiracies, declaring \u201conly one man is the main hurdle in country\u2019s progress.\u201d
\nThe PML-N chief organizer expressed surprise at the active participation of party workers and urged them to strengthen the Labour Wing further. She appreciated the efforts of workers and praised the Labour Wing for its active role in the party\u2019s affairs.
\nMaryam also highlighted the worsening economic situation in the country, adding the minimum wage of workers had been raised to Rs35,000 by the current government. She stated that in her opinion the minimum wage of workers should be increased to Rs40,000.
\nThe PML-N leader emphasized the importance of labour in the progress of the country. Taking the opportunity to bash PTI, Maryam also called out Imran Khan, whom she referred to as \u201cfitna\u201d for taking out a Labour Day rally in Lahore.
\nShe urged the PTI leader to stop making conspiracies against the country and work towards the progress of Pakistan. She said if the country is run on the vision of Nawaz Sharif, no one would need to go abroad for work. She said that only one person is obstructing the progress of Pakistan, and that is Imran Khan.
\nShe told the gathering that there was also the time when one dollar was worth 98 or 100 rupees. \u201cNawaz Sharif did not allow the price of flour to rise above Rs35 per kg for the labourers,\u201d she stated and asked Imran Khan to stop conspiracies and have mercy on the country for God\u2019s sake.
\n\u201cGlad to see. Our workers are the backbone of the country.\u201d She said she wanted the minimum wage of workers to be raised to Rs 40,000. She said she will convey to the Finance Minister and the Prime Minister that the minimum wages should be Rs40,000 per month. Despite the difficult and tough economic conditions, the Prime Minister had raised monthly wage to Rs 35,000.
\nMaryam said in 2017 bread (Roti) was selling at Rs2 and today its price is Rs25. She said children of labourers used to eat Chapati (Roti) to their fill. \u201cA Rs2 bread costs Rs25 today. Who is responsible for this? Not only Imran Khan, but his whole gang is responsible,\u201d she castigated.
\nToday, labourers have key role in most of the development in the country but they are not getting bread. \u201cThis should be discussed why the country is not moving forward? Imran Khan\u2019s gang includes all the corrupt people. Saqib Nisar and Faiz Hamed are in the gang of Imran,\u201d she added.
\nWhile pinpointing the recent \u2018audio leak\u2019 of former CJP Saqib Nisar\u2019s son, she said that the one who is responsible to disqualify PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, his son was caught taking a bribe of Rs 12 million for the party ticket.
\n\u201cYou demanded Rs12 million for the provision of an election ticket, how much you took for disqualifying Nawaz Sharif,\u201d she asked.
