A division bench of the high court heard the petition filed by the KP Assembly speaker Mushtaq Ghani seeking a date for the provincial legislature\u2019s election.<br \/>\nEarlier, Tariq Afridi Advocate, who has been nominated by Governor KP Haji Ghulam Ali as his lawyer, sought adjournment of the hearing due to his election campaign for High Court Bar Association\u2019s polls.<br \/>\nTariq Afridi is contesting for the presidential office in the bar election. He pleaded for fixing the date of hearing after May 11. \u201cThe election of the provincial assembly is an important issue,\u201d petitioner\u2019s counsel Gohar Khan said. \u201c Constitutional period of 90 days has been passed, still the election date has not been fixed,\u201d he said.<br \/>\n\u201cThe provincial government has submitted its reply in the court,\u201d Advocate General Amir Javed said. \u201cThe election commission\u2019s reply has been prepared and will be filed in the court,\u201d ECP lawyer said.<br \/>\nBarrister Gohar Khan pleaded to the court to fix the hearing tomorrow.<br \/>\n\u201cTariq Afridi has been a candidate in the Bar\u2019s election, the case will now be heard next week,\u201d Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim said.
