PTI workers set Radio Pakistan offices on fire, damage APP office

\nNormal life was affected and roads continued to be blocked for the second day in Peshawar and other major cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday following the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan.
\nThe workers and supporters of PTI proceeded to the Khyber Road and clashed with the police. The protesters were dispersed by the police after firing teargas shells.
\nThe PTI workers gathered outside the Qila Bala Hisar Fort and burnt old tyres on the road for several hours. The protesters also blocked Khyber Road and kept the traffic suspended for several hours. They were shouting against the federal government and denounced the arrest of their leader Imran Khan in an alleged corruption case.
\nFearing more attacks against the buses, the authorities suspended the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service for the second consecutive day in Peshawar. The workers and supporters of PTI marched on the Khyber Road and smashed the main gate of the provincial assembly for the second time and threw stones inside the building.
\nAfter torching the replica of the Chaghi Mountain on Tuesday, the day Imran Khan was held in custody by Rangers in Islamabad, the workers of PTI burnt down various sections of the Radio Peshawar and damaged valuable equipment installed inside the station.
\nAccording to a statement issued by the director general of Radio Pakistan, the protesters have set fires to the furniture of the different offices and attacked the staff at the station.
\nAccording to the Edhi Peshawar branch, the violent protesters in the provincial metropolis set on fire and destroyed an ambulance near Jinnah Park on GT Road. The vehicle was stationed to transport injured PTI workers and government law enforcement agencies personnel.
\nThe spokesperson of Edhi told reporters that one ambulance was damaged by the protesters in Peshawar.
\nA spokesperson for Lady Reading Hospital (LHR) Muhammad Asim said that four bullet-riddled bodies were received by their emergency room doctors, while as many as 84 others were under treatment for traumatic injuries.
\nSimilarly, Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) spokesperson said that three injured policemen were brought to the hospital for treatment while another major hospital of Peshawar Khyber Medical Hospital (KTH) authority has confirmed three injured persons into the hospital.
\nThe violent workers of PTI have also damaged the vehicles of Rescue 1122 and threw stones on the officials in various parts of the district.
\nPTI workers and supporters also staged rallies and took to the streets in Mardan, Charsadda, Mohmand, Bunner, Kohat, Khyber, Bajaur, Lakki Marwat, and Swat to record their protests against the arrest of Imran Khan.
\nAwami National Party (ANP), Pakistan People\u2019s Party (PPP) and journalist community have strongly condemned the attacks on the building and offices of Radio Pakistan and Associated Press of Pakistan in Peshawar and demanded stern action against those miscreants involved in attacks.
