Islamabad : Opposition leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday stated that he would leave politics if Prime Minister Imran Khan could prove that a request for a National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) was made. Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president questioned who had asked the prime minister for an NRO, and challenged the premier to identify the person who had asked the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for such a deal. <\/p>\n
\u201cI curse the NRO,\u201d Shehbaz said. \u201cWe cannot be scared off like this.\u201d \u201cIf the leader of the house cannot prove the NRO request, then he should come to the House and apologise here,\u201d he added. Taking aim at the ruling party, he said that never before in the history of the country a government lost its credibility so soon after assuming power. In a direct jab at Prime Minister Imran Khan, he said that he was at loss to understand how the government would build five million houses.<\/p>\n
Speaking about the cases against Pakistan Muslim League-N leaders, the opposition leader alleged that an \u201cunholy alliance between PTI and the NAB is known to everybody\u201d. He also mentioned that there were NAB cases against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders including helicopter misuse case against the premier, yet notices are issued to PML-N leaders only. Saad Rafique saved the sinking railways, yet he has been receiving notices from NAB daily, the opposition leader lamented.
\nThe opposition leader added that several members of the Pakistan People\u2019s Party (PPP) were also receiving notices from NAB. Shehbaz lashed out at the PTI government for \u201cdropping inflation bombs\u201d on the masses since coming into power.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif strongly denounced the recent wave of violence unleashed by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir. He said the Indian human rights violations in the held valley are a blot on the face of international community. He said that Pakistan should forcefully raise the Kashmir dispute at the forum of United Nations. He said that we should demand the UN to send its fact finding mission to the Occupied Kashmir and cases should be registered against those involved in repression there.<\/p>\n
The Opposition Leader also asked the government to send official delegations comprising members both from the Opposition and the Treasury benches to important capitals to acquaint them with the prevailing situation in Occupied Kashmir. He said the Parliament should adopt a united stance on the Kashmir dispute. He especially appreciated the resolution passed by the House the other day to express solidarity with the Kashmiris.<\/p>\n
About the Saudi Assistance Package, the Opposition Leader said that the entire nation and the Parliament should express their gratitude to the Kingdom for giving a sizable package to Pakistan. He said Saudi Arabia is our sincere and trust worthy friend which always stood by Pakistan in difficult times.
