ISLAMABAD: Raza Rabbani, Pakistan Peoples Party senator, gave his opinion against the use of military courts to dispense justice and said criminal justice system should be used for this purpose. He gave these remarks after the all-powerful National Security Committee also agreed with decision to hold the trial of rioters under the Army Act and Officials Secret Act. In a statement on Wednesday, the PPP\u2019s stalwart said, \u201cno leniency should be shown towards those who attacked, burnt and looted public and defence installations under a political agenda.\u201d He stressed that as civilians they should not be tried under Army act as it would raise questions on transparency and rights awarded to an individual to defend himself.
