\nPakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Babar Awan said on Thursday young leadership would replace those who left the party.
\nHis statement comes as prominent PTI leaders including former federal minister for national health services Aamer Mehmood Kiani and former environment minister Malik Amin Aslam announced quitting the party citing party\u2019s involvement in May 9 attacks on \u201csecurity installations\u201d.
\nTaking to Twitter, he wrote, \u201cLeaders are born out of resistance to throny politics. Political struggle is all about ups and downs. Hundreds of brave young men rose in the PTI in difficult times.\u201d
\nMr Awan had joined the PTI in 2017, ending two-decades long association with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).Earlier, billion-tree tsunami lynchpin Mr Aslam said an \u201cagenda\u201d had hijacked the party and that everyone should be held accountable for it. \u201cAfter seeing everything on TV, I was stunned\u201d he stated.
\nHe siad he could not continue with this agenda anymore, adding that people who were behind this had thrown the party into a deep ditch. On the other hand, PTI deputy secretary information Dr Amjad also left the party.
\nA day ago, Mr Kiani jumped the ship as well as politics saying attacks on public properties including military installations were \u201cunfortunate, painful, and terrible,\u201d adding that such acts spoiled youngsters.
\n\u201cThe country is already grappling with crises, thanks to the PDM [led government],\u201d he added. It was extremely disappointing that my 27-year long political career is going to end this way, he said.
\nFormer minister said he could no longer be a part of such politics, adding that he would not like to be nominated in such cases in the future.
\n\u201cI have been nominated in Mianwali attacks,\u201d he added. Pakistan\u2019s survival was linked, he said, to its state institutions.
\nFollowing Mr Kiani, two PTI MPAs in the Sindh Assembly including Sanjay Gangwani and Karim Gabol also parted ways with the party. On Tuesday, PTI Sindh senior vice president Mehmood Moulvi parted ways with the party and resigned as Member of the National Assembly (MNA) from NA-245 (Karachi East-IV) as well.
\nMr Mehmood said even India could not have vandalised the martyrs\u2019 graveyards, adding that the attacks on them disappointed him. \u201cIt is not suitable to fight the army,\u201d he added. He was not a part of the team, he said, that attacked security installments.
\n\u201cI am not blaming Mr Khan as he is not responsible for everything\u201d, he said, adding that whoever advised so was PTI\u2019s enemy. \u201cWe cannot [even] collect 25000 people for a protest in Karachi and then claim that people are with us,\u201d he criticised. \u2014 DNA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
