Gen Asim Munir announces celebrating \u2018Pakistan Martyrs Day\u2019 on May 25, says ISPR

\nChief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, while addressing an award distribution ceremony aimed to recognise unwavering bravery and outstanding services of martyrs and ghazis to the nation, has underlined that a strong army guarantees the security and unity of the country. In a solemn ceremony held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Monday, the army chief awarded military honours to the brave officers and men of the Pakistan Army, militray\u2019s media wing, the ISPR, said in a statement.
\nThe event, attended by a large number of senior officers of the Pakistan Army and the families of martyrs, commemorated the sacrifices made by these individuals in ensuring the country\u2019s security and freedom.
\nThe army chief, General Asim, expressed deep gratitude and appreciation for the martyrs and veterans, emphasising their vital role in maintaining a free and safe atmosphere in the country.
\n\u201cUndoubtedly, we are living in a free atmosphere due to the martyrs\u2019 sense of duty and great sacrifices,\u201d he stated. He further added, \u201cSacrifices of martyrs and services of Ghazis are our valuable asset and capital of pride.\u201d
\nDuring the ceremony, 51 officers were bestowed with the prestigious Sitara-e-Imtiaz (military) award in recognition of their exceptional contributions.
\nAdditionally, 22 officers and jawans received the Tamgha-e-Basalat decoration for their exemplary dedication, while 2 jawans were honoured with the United Nations Special Medal.
\nThe army chief highlighted the unity and camaraderie within the Pakistan Army, describing it as a proud and exemplary family. \u201cPakistan Army as an institution always remembers every person associated with it and their families, and our relationship as a family is a proud and exemplary one,\u201d General Asim stated.
\nHe further emphasised the spirit of inclusivity and impartiality within the armed forces, stating, \u201cEvery soldier and officer of the Pakistan Army puts his duties and responsibilities first, regardless of regional, linguistic, and political prejudices and distinctions.\u201d
\n\u201cA strong army guarantees the security and unity of the country,\u201d he underlined.
\nAddressing a recent spate of attacks on military installations, memorials, and sanctuaries of martyrs, General Asim expressed deep sadness and denounced them as intolerable. He pledged to take firm action against those responsible for such acts, emphasising the army\u2019s unwavering commitment to safeguarding national security.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
