{"id":333944,"date":"2023-05-29T09:00:33","date_gmt":"2023-05-29T04:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=333944"},"modified":"2023-05-29T09:00:33","modified_gmt":"2023-05-29T04:00:33","slug":"cm-naqvi-orders-probe-into-newborns-death-at-childrens-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/cm-naqvi-orders-probe-into-newborns-death-at-childrens-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"CM Naqvi orders probe into newborn\u2019s death at Children\u2019s Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> LAHORE<br \/>\nTaking notice of the death of a newly born baby girl in an incubator of Children\u2019s Hospital, Lahore due to overheating, Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday constituted a four-member team to probe into the incident and submit a report to him within 24 hours.<br \/>\nThe team would identify those responsible for the death and also recommend action against them.<br \/>\nDuring his visit to the hospital, the chief minister expressed deep grief and shock over the tragedy, and stated categorically that even slightest negligence in looking after the newly born babies would not be tolerated.<br \/>\nProvincial health secretary and senior doctors accompanied the CM during the visit. He also inquired after other babies admitted in the nursery, and also gave necessary instructions to the hospital staff in this regard. CM Naqvi also went round other wards of the hospital.<br \/>\nIt pained him to see that two to three babies were being treated on the same bed. \u201cThere should be just one child on one bed,\u201d he ordered. Two baby girls had been burnt at Children\u2019s Hospital\u2019s nursery ward yesterday (Saturday, May 27, 2023) after a nurse forgot to turn off the warmer.<br \/>\nOne of the newborns, who was suffering from jaundice, was under treatment till last reports came in.
