\nSecretary General World Kashmir Awareness Forum Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai has urged the world powers to stop granting the impunity to human rights violator India in the Held Kashmir.
\nAddressing an informative and educational session on \u201cCountering and dismantling Islamophobia, locally and globally\u201d organized during 48th Annual ICNA-MAS Convention at Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore, Maryland, Dr Fai has called for a \u201cGlobal initiative\u201d to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute, stating it would not only end the bloodshed and suffering of Kashmiri people but also have a positive effect on international security with the elimination of regional tensions.

\nAddressing an informative and educational session on \u201cCountering and dismantling Islamophobia, locally and globally\u201d organized during 48th Annual ICNA-MAS Convention at Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore, Maryland, Dr Fai has called for a \u201cGlobal initiative\u201d to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute, stating it would not only end the bloodshed and suffering of Kashmiri people but also have a positive effect on international security with the elimination of regional tensions.

\nDr. Ghulam Nabi Fai said that there is a phenomenon of unstopped and unpunished barbarities that is being witnessed in Kashmir.
\nThe irony is that the impunity that is thus being granted to the violator of human rights \u2013 India \u2013 is not in the context of a new dispute, or a civil war where the status, the positions and the actions of the parties remain obscure for some time and international response lags behind in the situation. It is being done in a territory known to be disputed for 76 years.
\nThere is no alibi for the international communities\u2019 inaction except that India with its major power pretensions maintains violent occupation of the territory.
\nFurthermore, the dispute is known to have the potential of large-scale international conflict with the possibility of nuclear confrontation. It has produced two wars between India and Pakistan and a third cannot be ruled out unless a resolution is sought to the satisfaction of all parties concerned.
\nDr. Fai said ending the suffering of the people of Kashmir was vital and urgent. He wondered why such actions were forthcoming in Namibia, East Timor, Southern Sudan, etc and not in Kashmir.
\nWas the suffering of the people of Kashmir any less than that of East Timorese? He pointed out that Kashmir has been under military occupation for more than 76 years.
\nThe United States, he said, holds unique powers of moral suasion and it also has the capability of coming up with material and economic assistance to help Kashmir\u2019s search for an enlightened solution. After all. the United Stats has made such efforts in other international conflict. How was Kashmir any different, he asked?
\nDr. Fai announced with immense pain and anguish the news that Modi administration is asking High Court for a death sentence of the most popular leader of Kashmiri political resistance movement in Indian Occupied Kashmir \u2013 Mohammad Yasin Malik.
\nAmbassador Kuldip Nayyar, former High Commissioner of India to Great Britain has said that Yasin Malik has adopted the nonviolent movement and has become the follower of Mahatma Gandhi.
\nAs Shashi Tharoor, former minister of India has said that \u2018For much of his political career, Narendra Modi has been trained to dislike Mahatma Gandhi.\u2019 Given this frame of mind, how can Narendra Modi like Yasin Malik to be the follower of Gandhi.
