He tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a meeting held with the latter at the PM Hosue.<br \/>\nSources said the FIA also added his name to the no-fly list, barring him from travelling abroad. \u201cThe FIA and the NAB have also initiated some cases against him,\u201d sources added. There had been differences between the government and the Nadra over some initiatives taken by Mr Malik, sources said.<br \/>\nTariq Malik was first appointed chairman of the NADRA in July 2013. However, he resigned in January 2014. He was once again appointed to lead the authority in June 2021 during the tenure of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.<br \/>\nHe was the first person to be appointed to the position through a competitive process.<br \/>\nMalik had previously served as the deputy chairman of authority and as the Chief Technical Advisor of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>differences ISLAMABAD National Database and Registration Authority Chairman (Nadra) Tariq Malik on Tuesday resigned from his post after allegations of corruption.
