\nAmun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah asked for taking all stakeholders on board to bring holistic reforms to ensure transparency and fairness in general elections.
\nChairing a meeting here at the party\u2019s central office on Friday, Shah hailed the government\u2019s efforts for bringing electoral reforms by amending Election law.
\nHe, however, said initiative would become fruitful when all political parties and stakeholders should be consulted and build up a consensus on a comprehensive reforms agenda.
\nIt is noted to mention here that the parliamentary committee on Electoral reforms led by chairman Ayaz Sadiq held its maiden session and sought more amendments in Elections law. The panel is likely to submit its report next week.
\nHe asserted a meaningful dialogue on electoral reforms which would be proposed by the parliamentary panel should be held for establishing larger consensus on this crucial matter.
\nShah demanded an end to the intervention of wealth, rigging and pressure so that it can pave the way for those people who really want to work for people\u2019s rights and competent ones to come forward.
\nAs the result of reforms, he hoped rigging, using illegal money, politics-based on personality and interests would be erased forever.
\nHe maintained law and constitution are vehemently violated by public representatives, but no one is questioning them.
\nFaiq called upon the Election commission to hold political parties answerable on manifesto and action plan\/strategy so that people have voted for the manifesto to be implemented with true letter and spirit.
\nThe ATP chairman termed that manifesto, programme and strategy\/action plan as crucial in parliamentary democracy.
\nHe noted the closed door policy and diplomacy being adopted in the government, while people were also deceived by various tactics.
\nDeceit\/falsehood, character assassination and looting has given the name of politics, he added.
\nThe party leader warned that people couldn\u2019t accept this practice and tendency.
