{"id":344367,"date":"2023-07-21T09:13:23","date_gmt":"2023-07-21T04:13:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=344367"},"modified":"2023-07-21T09:13:23","modified_gmt":"2023-07-21T04:13:23","slug":"govt-drops-bombshell-of-electricity-on-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/govt-drops-bombshell-of-electricity-on-people\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt drops bombshell of electricity on people"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> ISLAMABAD<br \/>\nOnce again shock of expensive electricity has been given to inflation stricken people by increasing electricity rates.<br \/>\nThe price of electricity has been increased by Rs 1.90 per unit.<br \/>\nNepra has issued the approval notification under the head of fuel price adjustment for May.<br \/>\nAccording to notification, the hike in tariff will be applicable on the bills for the month of July.<br \/>\nIncrease in cost of electricity will not be applicable to life line and K-electric consumers.<br \/>\nCCP had requested an increase of RS 2.05 per unit.<br \/>\nNEPRA had heard the request on July 5th.<br \/>\nIt is to remember that the Central Power Chasing Agency had submitted a complaint to NEPRA for increasing the price of electricity just a few days after the largest hike in the country\u2019s history in the basic electricity tariff.<br \/>\nThere is likelihood of further enhancing power tariff by RS 1.88 per unit. .<br \/>\nThe increase in electricity prices was sought in the context of monthly fuel price adjustment.<br \/>\nThe application of CCP will be heard by NEPRA on 26 July.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, preparations have been made to drop electricity bombshell on the citizens of Karachi.<br \/>\nK-electric has submitted the application in NEPRA seeking increase in the cost of electricity by RS 2.33 per unit.<br \/>\nNEPRA has fixed the basic electricity tariff at around RS 30.
