LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Saturday was all praise for Punjab chief minister Mohsin Naqvi and said Naqvi speed overtook Shehbaz speed in executing the development projects. Addressing a ceremony to award laptops to talented students of the Danish Schools System, PM Shehbaz said Punjab CM has left him behind with the speed he has worked and also urged him to re-launch the laptop scheme in the province. PM Shehbaz once again called for a charter of economic and democracy for the sake of continuity of policies and for the prosperous future of the country. The prime minister regretted that the false allegations of thefts and corruption had divided the nation and spread venom.<\/p>\n
He said during the past 15 months of the coalition government, they had
\nfaced issues like floods, price hike and IMF agreement but he had never
\nwitnessed such a bitter divide in the society throughout his life. The
\nprime minister said that in different parts of the world, elections were
\nbeing held, but the worst divide which had been created in Pakistan, had
\ndestroyed the country\u2019s progress and prosperity.<\/p>\n
He stressed that a charter of economy and democracy would ensure
\ncontinuity in policies, irrespective of change of governments, as had
\nbeen pursued by different countries of the world. The prime minister
\ncalled upon all to realize the issues confronted by the country.<\/p>\n
Terming the IMF\u2019s agreement as \u2018a breather for the country\u2019, he stressed
\nthat they should convert it into an opportunity, adding that it was also
\na moment of introspection for all.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey should bury their differences and become one and if they decide
\nit, then nothing could hinder the country from moving on the path of
\nprogress and prosperity. We have to resolve to equip young generations
\nwith the latest education, especially the poor and deprived classes,\u201d He
\nadded.<\/p>\n
The prime minister maintained that Pakistan was blessed with natural
\nresources, but these could not be fully explored rather the country had
\npaid huge amounts on litigation abroad.<\/p>\n
The prime minister congratulated the students on their success and said
\nthey owed their success due to their talent and hard work and the
\ndedication of their teachers, management and the provincial government\u2019s
\nsupport.<\/p>\n
The prime minister recollected that when Danish schools were
\nestablished, they had faced stiff resistance from different quarters.<\/p>\n
Today Danish schools had become model institutions for those students
\nwho could not afford expensive private education, he added. The prime
\nminister vowed to construct similar projects across the country if came
\nto power after the upcoming elections.<\/p>\n
He said if these students were deprived of such educational facilities,
\nthey would have wasted in the wilderness of the backward areas, but now
\nthese schools have turned them into gems. He said about 50,000 students
\nwere being imparted education in Danish schools.<\/p>\n
The prime minister said that no nation could aspire to achieve progress
\nunless its youth were properly educated.<\/p>\n
Citing the laptop scheme, he said during Covid-19, the students
\ncontinued their studies with the facility of laptops and became
