\nExperts here Sunday said that political parties give strength to democracy and reconciliation among it was imperative for continuity of a demcratic system on basis of free, fair and transperant elections.
\nAs the country is moving towards general election, therefore it was necessary that all religious and political parties set aside their differences by sitting together for a transperant and free election to give legitimacy to the future political government and take democracy to safe shores.
\n\u201cPakistan is passing through a very difficult time since its existence and it is right time for all political parties including PDM and PTI to shun differences and unite for genetal elections,\u201d Professor Dr A.H Hilali, former Chairman, Political Science Department, University of Peshawar (UoP) while talking to APP on Sunday.
\nProviding solutions to all political problems, he said democracy is a best form of government that not only guarantees supremacy of constitution and rule of law but also brings political and economic stability to a country.
\nHe said that unfortunately, democracy couldn\u2019t strengthen its roots in the country due to wrangling among political parties for power and leveling of corruption and rigging allegations against elected governments after elections, consequently, this popular system derailed four times in the past and no elected prime minister completed the five-year constitutional term.
\nDr Hilali said instead of learning lesson from the country\u2019s grim political history, the political parties again have started wrangling ahead of the general elections that not only increased people\u2019s problems but made negative effects on economy and politics in the country.
\nHe said Pakistan can\u2019t afford political instability and economic chaos besides hate based politics, adding that May 9 vandalism showed political intolerance and illogical approach to democratic values and norms.
\nDr Hilal said Inspite of the completion of 75 years of independence of Pakistan, the country was still looking toward IMF and other financial institutions to run the economy mainly due to inconsistent economic policies and political instability.
\nHe said the present government deserved appreciation for brokering a successful agreement with IMF to save the country from bankruptcy.
\nWajid Ali Khan, former KP Minister for Environment said that ANP founder Bacha Khan and Abdul Wali Khan advocated for political reconciliation and unity of people.
\nHe said those countries, which have evolved a stable, progressive, inclusive and tolerant political culture have attained all feats including economic prosperity, civilian supremacy and rule of law, institutional efficiency and balance of power.
\nHe said a politically stable government that came into existence after free and transperant elections ensured sustainable economic development, national security and social harmony, transparency and capitalisation of resources, freedom of expression and pragmatic foreign policy besides taking bold decisions in national interest.
\nTo achieve these key goals, he said that the 1973 constitution empowered all political parties to serve their countrymen for five years after winning the election and implement its manifestoes, adding that in democracies, people have the power to decide about the future of political parties through votes.
\nEjaz Khan, former Chairman International Relations, UoP said that democracy, which is the process of political evolution, strengthened its roots after free and transparent elections following completion of five years term of the provincial and national assemblies.
\nHe said political unity and dialogue was imperative among political parties ahead of general elections so that no one can raise finger on polls\u2019 results.
\nHe said that elections were fast approaching and urged all political parties including PDM and PTI to sit together and start a grand political dialogue to take the ship of democracy to safe shores.
\nIkhtair Wali Khan, PMLN KP spokesman said his party strongly believed in political dialogue and time and again offered PTI Chairman to come forward and sit with the government for a grand political dialogue to bring down the political temperature besides holding of simultaneous elections for national and provincial assemblies for political and economic stability.
\nHowever, the stubbornness of PTI leadership and bad relations with the opposition in Imran\u2019s four year poor rule had created political and economic chaos in the country, he said.
\n He said PTI leadership had dissolved two elected assemblies after Imran Khan was ousted from power through a successful no confidence motion last year and tried to destabilize the system.<\/p>\n
He said the constitution cannot act on the whims of one person, who could violate it anytime, dissolve the two provincial assemblies prematurely whenever he wants, saying such a negative attitude was against the spirit of the constitution.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs Imran cannot face the public after May 9 vandalism, that is why he was using different dramas only to gain people\u2019s sympathies ahead of general elections,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
He said Imran has victimised the opposition leadership and put them in jails. He said that Imran\u2019s cypher drama was completed flopped and exposed before masses now after reported statement of his former Principal Secretary Azam Khan.<\/p>\n
Ikhtarir Wali said the PTI chief instead of talking about his government performance in public rallies and TV shows had leveled baseless allegations against political opponents as he had nothing to show.<\/p>\n
He said the billion trees project has been taken by the NAB and the BRT project was completed at very high cost thus huge taxpayers money was wasted by the PTI. <\/p>\n
He said Imran had left millions of flood victims alone in Khyber Pakthunkhwa and Punjab provinces despite his government at that time and would face peoples\u2019 wrath in the upcoming general elections.<\/p>\n
Wali said the PTI leader must answer for his false narrative of a foreign conspiracy against him, which he repeated for several months before suddenly retracting and declaring it false by own, adding his actions have negatively impacted the foreign policy of Pakistan.<\/p>\n
He said PTI chairman would have to answer May 9 vandalism and about his \u2018two-faced behaviour\u2019 and politics of lies and accusations, saying people would reject Imran\u2019s ill-mannered politics in the upcoming general elections.<\/p>\n
Despite political stubbornness and allegations of PTI chairman, he said the coalition government had offered several times to PTI\u2019s former lawmakers to take their resignations back and come to parliament but they made a mockery of the sincere offer of the PML-N leadership and were now weeping after their resignations were accepted.<\/p>\n
Due to negative politics of Imran, he said that PTI was divided in groups and fictions and people started distance from him.<\/p>\n
He said Imran Niazi had deceived people on the hollow slogan of \u201caccountability and change\u201d as the former PTI government in KP itself closed its own Ehtesab Commission at Peshawar exposing his tall anti corruption slogans.<\/p>\n
He said PTI has lost footings in KP and Punjab provinces where they would now face people\u2019s anger in upcoming elections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
