{"id":347448,"date":"2023-08-06T00:53:08","date_gmt":"2023-08-05T19:53:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=347448"},"modified":"2023-08-06T00:53:56","modified_gmt":"2023-08-05T19:53:56","slug":"ecp-to-rule-on-pti-chairmanship-on-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/ecp-to-rule-on-pti-chairmanship-on-monday\/","title":{"rendered":"ECP to rule on PTI chairmanship on Monday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is likely to rule on removal of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan from party\u2019s chairmanship on Monday.<br \/>\nAccording to details, the electoral watchdog was waiting for a detailed decision from sessions court regarding the removal of Imran Khan from the PTI chairmanship.<br \/>\nSources said that the ECP would summon a meeting after a detailed decision is issued to deliberate on PTI chairmanship.<br \/>\nEarlier in the day, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan was arrested from his Zaman Park residence in Lahore soon after he was found guilty of \u201ccorrupt practices\u201d in the Toshakhana case and sentenced to three years in prison.<br \/>\nPTI Vice-Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi confirmed the arrest of the PTI chairman in the Toshakhana case.<br \/>\nPTI\u2019s Punjab Chapter confirmed the reports with a tweet: \u201cImran Khan is being moved to Kot Lakhpat Jail.\u201d<br \/>\nDistrict and Sessions Court today awarded three years jail term to the PTI chairman in Toshakhana criminal case.<br \/>\nThe court in its verdict said that the accused has been found guilty of corrupt practices and handed the PTI chairman three years jail sentence.<br \/>\n\u201cImran Khan deliberately submitted fake details [of Toshakhana gifts] to the ECP and is found guilty of corrupt practices,\u201d he stated.<br \/>\nThe court also imposed Rs 100,000 fine on the convicted chief of the PTI.
