NEW YORK
\nPakistan\u2019s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram has vowed that Islamabad will continue to extend support to the Kashmiris\u2019 struggle for their right to self-determination and freedom from India.
\nIn a message to the UN community on Independence Day, he said we will continue to raise Kashmir\u2019s call for liberation at the United Nations and in all forums. Akram said hundreds of thousands of our Kashmiri brothers and sisters sacrificed their lives just to reach their promised homeland; to fulfill their dream of nationhood and liberty and we must never forget their heroism.
\n\u201cWe will continue to raise Kashmir\u2019s call for liberation at the United Nations and in all forums,\u201d he said. Freedom is never free,\u201d Ambassador Akram said, pointing out that \u201cour founding fathers faced vigorous opposition and secured Pakistan through determination, resolve, wisdom and democratic struggle.
\n\u201cHundreds of thousands of our brothers and sisters sacrificed their lives just to reach their promised homeland; to fulfill their dream of nationhood and liberty. We must never forget their heroism; their ideals; and their sacrifice.
\n\u201cToday, as we celebrate our independence, we stand firmly with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters in their struggle for right to self-determination and freedom,\u201d the Pakistani envoy added. As a resilient nation., he said, Pakistanis overcame security and economic challenges with strength and fortitude, as manifested in the nation\u2019s response to the massive floods of 2022.
\n\u201cOur Quaid prescribed the principles of unity, faith and discipline as the cornerstones of nation-building.
