14th August celebrates with zeal in Khyber
\nKHYBER
\nThe 76th Independence Day was celebrated by the tribesmen of Khyber on Monday with national enthusiasm and with pledged to work hard to take the country to the new height of progress and development.
\nYoum-e-Aazadi is observed annually on 14 Augusts is a national holiday tin Pakistan. It commemorates the day when Pakistan achieved independence and was declared a sovereign state following the end of the British Rule in 1947.
\nThe Day was dawned with special prayers, offered in the mosques for the prosperity and solidarity of the country.
\nEarlier, Bab-e-Khyber and other government buildings were illuminated with colorful lights.
\nOn Sunday and Monday midnight fireworks shows were set up at Bab-e-Khyber and at Hamza Baba sports ground that fascinated the spectators.
\nIn Landi Kotal a main function was organized inside the tehsil compound that was attended by the Assistant Commissioner, Landi Kotal Irshad Mohmand as a chief guest while city mayor Haji Shah Khalid and tribal elders were among the participants.
\nNational flag was hoisted and the national anthem was presented by the school children.
\nA simple but impressive gathering was organized in the Rescue 1122 office, Jamrud.
\nAdditional Deputy Commissioner (relief)Nauman Ali Shah was the chief guest on the occasion.
\nHe hoisted the national flag and the smart contingent of the Rescue 1122 workers saluted to it.
\nCake was also cut on the national day and appreciation certificates were bestowed on the best Rescue 1122 volunteers.
\nFlag march was also conducted by the Rescue 1122 and other line departments in Jamrud.
\nIn the same way national flag hoisted ceremony was held teshil building Bara that was attended by Additional DC Haseeb-ur-Rehman Khalil, District Police Officer (DPO)Saleem Abbas, Assistant Commissioner, Bara Shahabuddin,tehsil chairman,Landi Kotal Haji Shah Khalid, political elites, tribal elders, representatives of minority and members of civil society.
\nCake was also cut to celebrate Independence Day.
\nAddressing on the occasion, speakers said that our forefathers got the Independence following rendered matchless sacrifices and it was binding on us to protect it.
\nLive nation celebrates their independence with great pomp and show to aware their young generation about the importance of freedom, they added.
