LAHORE
\nCaretaker Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has directed to speed up rescue and relief operations in the flood-affected areas while taking all possible measures to protect people\u2019s lives.
\nHe issued these directions during his aerial visit of the flooded areas of Kasur, Okara, Pakpattan, Arifwala and other places near River Sutlej which is in high flood. Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman and IG Police Dr Usman Anwar were also present on the occasion.
\nChief Minister Naqvi gave necessary instructions to the Chief Secretary and Inspector General of Police regarding relief activities in the affected villages with the help of the map. He further directed that necessary resources should be utilized to strengthen the protective walls.
\nThe Chief Minister conducted an aerial inspection of the submerged settlements the evacuation of the affected population. Meanwhile, the Punjab government Tuesday imposed Section 144 across the province for a period of three months.
