\nAamir Fida Paracha, Managing Director, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) said that his organization is ready to work with ICCI on welfare projects, so the Chamber should prepare its proposal for skills development and empowerment of women and send it to him that would be considered for implementation.
\nHe said that the PBM is being digitized to promote transparency and increase the confidence of donors. He said that they are working on devising a scoring system for beneficiaries on the pattern of Benazir Income Support Program, which will greatly facilitate the beneficiaries and reduce documentary requirements.
\nHe said that good projects of the previous government including the shelter homes have been continued, but those shelters have been closed which had no beneficiary and were costing great expenses. He said that many welfare projects including 50 sweet homes for orphans and 160 women empowerment centers are working under PBM.
\nHe said that the scholarships for poor students in the universities have been further increased while the scholarship for the poor students of Balochistan has been increased to 20%.
\nHe said that the government has increased the budget of Pakistan Baitul Mal from 6 billion rupees to carry forward the welfare projects. He expressed these views while addressing the business community during his visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
\nAhsan Zafar Bakhtawari, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), said that Pakistan Baitul Mal is rendering valuable services for the welfare of the poor and needy people of the society, which is laudable.
\nHe said that PBM is doing many welfare projects including provision of education & medical treatment to the poor segments of society, so he strongly appealed to the business community and the philanthropists of the society to fully cooperate with PBM so that this institution can better serve the poor and needy members of the society.
\nEngr. Azharul Islam Zafar, Vice President ICCI said that PBM is carrying out a great mission by serving the suffering humanity and suggested that it should also play role in providing education to 20 million out-of-school children.
\nZafar Bakhtawari, former President ICCI and Secretary General UBG, said that ICCI wants to start a project in collaboration with PBM for skills development and training of young girls for their economic empowerment. If this project is successful in Islamabad, then PBM can start it in other parts of the country.
\nKhalid Chaudhry, Maqsood Tabish, Chaudhry Javed Iqbal, Imtiaz Abbasi, Shahid Zaman Shinwari, Naveed Abbasi, Ms. Nagina Khaliq, Ms. Nasira Ali and others also spoke on the occasion and suggested that PBM should streamline its documentary requirements for the beneficiaries to facilitate them. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
