\nHafiz Naeem-ur-Rahman, the Emeer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Tuesday said that if the trend of increasing electricity and fuel prices continues, consultation will be sought from traders and representatives of various sections of the public to stage a sit-in at the Governor\u2019s House.
\nIt is not necessary to limit the matter to protests until the issue of the people\u2019s problems increasing with each passing day is not addressed. The situation where there is no light at the end of the tunnel is extremely inappropriate for national security. He expressed these thoughts while addressing a local restaurant event under the title \u201cMeet the Editors\u201d organized by the Karachi Editors Club.
\nThe event was attended by the President of the Editors Club, Mubashir Mir, the General Secretary, and members of the Editors Club. The event was preside by Mukhtar Ahmed Butt. \nHafiz Naeem-ur-Rahman faced the questions of Sindh\u2019s nationalist intellectuals, asking why the voices for the rights of the oppressed Fatima Furro, a young victim of cruelty in Ranipur, are not being raised? What power or pressure is keeping humanity\u2019s history silent about such a great injustice? Where are the columnists of major newspapers? Where are the women storytellers who used to rally for the rights of Sindh\u2019s women? Why are they silent?
\nHafiz Naeem-ur-Rahman answered that Jamaat-e-Islami supports the creation of new provinces in the country. In the light of the report of Maulana Zafar Ahmad Ansari, the demand for 21 provinces is being supported, but demanding a new province in Sindh has become difficult and incites bloodshed.
\nSo, to prevent any kind of chaos, anarchy, and loss of public lives, Jamaat-e-Islami will not support the demand for a new province in Sindh, but if powers are devolved to the municipalities of Karachi, we will not demand a separate province in Sindh in the future.
\n Answering a question, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rahman said that those who accuse us of speaking against the \u201cWadera\u201d for personal gain, where will they take Sindh\u2019s resistance literature? They are using strange logic that speaking against the Wadera is not criticized when Sindhi Speaking do it, but if anyone non-Sindhi speaks against it, they become enemies of Sindh.
\nThis propaganda has been peddled by the Pakistan Peoples Party for the last 15 years of its rule. The nationalist movement spread by them has made the social and economic conditions of Karachi worse.
\nThey have used their \u2018political power\u2019 to impose a mayor on Karachi\u2019s people who lack the ability and qualification, not to mention their intentions. He stated that the situation calls for changing the very system in which the powerful continue to grow stronger and oppression against the weak continues to rise.
\nHe stated that during the past fifteen years, MQM and PPP have devastated Karachi. While the PPP is eager to loot Karachi, they are unwilling to offer even a job, let alone a drop of water, to its citizens.
\nThe disparity between the people and the government in Karachi is glaring. Karachi\u2019s infrastructure has been destroyed over the past fifteen years. The PPP is responsible for this destruction.
\nHe said that whether they are from rural areas or urban areas, the people of Sindh should recognize their true political leaders. The PPP and MQM have continued to deceive the people while remaining in opposition. They have worsened Karachi\u2019s social and economic conditions. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami has received a mandate in local elections. Despite being in the opposition, we will work beyond people\u2019s expectations.
\nAnswering a question, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rahman said that although Jamaat-e-Islami was not officially entrusted with a position in the provincial cabinet, we believe that fair elections should be held on time.
