\nThe five Kenyan police officers, who were involved in the killing of Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif, have been declared \u201cinnocent\u201d and were allowed to resume their official duties after their reinstatement.
\nAccording to sources, all the five police officers were declared \u201cinnocent\u201d and even two of them were promoted to higher ranks. The sources, however, disclosed that Kenya\u2019s Independent Policing Oversight Authority has yet to share its findings with public despite a promise of three weeks.
\nA spokesman of the Authority even could not reply a question regarding reinstatement of police officers and the delay in investigation. Arshad Sharif had arrived in the Kenyan capital on August 20 last year and died on October 23 in a shootout.
\n The 49-year-old journalist had fled Pakistan in August to avoid arrest after he was slapped with several cases including sedition charges over an interview with Shahbaz Gill, a former aide of Imran Khan. After reaching Kenya\u2019s capital Nairobi, Arshad Sharif had stayed at the Riverside penthouse of Karachi businessman Waqar Ahmad whose brother Khurram Ahmad was driving him when he was killed. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
