\nAmun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah said instead of removing inflation, poverty and public miseries, the interim government has also adopted a policy of erasing poor people by following footprints of previous regimes.
\nCriticising the caretaker government for lackluster response toward resolution of public issues, Shah said price-hike has broken all previous records.
\nHe said the poor people are [protesting] on the streets against inflation and inflated power bills.
\nHe added that the price of life saving drugs has increased exorbitantly.
\nShah said the situation is forcing people on rebellion.
\nHe warned that if the present government didn\u2019t pay serious attention to people\u2019s issues, that would cause chaos and anarchy, which wasn\u2019t in the best interest of the country.
\nFaiq was chairing a meeting of the party\u2019s central executive committee here on Monday.
\nApart from members of CEC, central and provincial leaders, heads of divisional organisations from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab and other regions participated in the meeting.
\nCalling the government\u2019s announced relief in power bills as nothing but \u2018it\u2019s like cumin seed in the mouth of camel\u2019, the ATP chief demanded of the government to bring reduction in heavy taxes\/power tariff.
\nHe strongly opposed the adopting policy of political vendetta and urged to resolve issues through holding dialogue.
\n\u201cIn politics, the doors of dialogue are never closed,\u201d he added.
\nShah warned that Pakistan \u201cis in dire need of political stability; if stability does not come, the situation will become serious and dire.\u201d
\nTalking about rising prices of sugar, flour and other essential food items, the party leader demanded pragmatic steps to break smuggling, cartelization and mafia in the country.
\nHe said prices of food basket have increased manifold in the country hitting poor segments of the society harder.
\nFaiq urged the interim government to not waste time on non-serious issues and to take proactive measures to provide relief to people at their doorstep.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
