\nChairman of various neighborhood and village councils Mardan district has declared the funds issued by the Provincial Finance Commission insufficient for office expenses and demanded the government to stop discrimination with the second biggest district of the province and give it share according to its population. addressing to a crowded news conformance at Mardan press club chairman of different neighborhood and village councils including Yusuf Khan, Mansoor Khan, Shah Khalid, Zahirullah, Muhammad Ali, Sherizad Bibi and other said that Mardan is the second big district of the province in terms of population, but it is being deprived of its legitimate rights.
\nThey added that Nowshera district 153 neighborhood and village councils and government paid 1 lakh 8 thousand rupees per council every month in terms of monthly expenses.
\nThey argued that the government paid 70,000 to per council every month. They added that the government paid 31,000 to 231 NC, VC in Mardan district, which is an injustice with Mardan district.
\nThe chairman said that two years have passed since the municipal elections, but neither powers have not been assigned and not a single rupee has been given to us.
\nThey argued that people have high expectations from us, while due to lack of power, the elected representatives are helpless.
\nThey said that most of the representatives had not paid the rent and expenses due to lack of funds and abolished their office and transferred the furniture to their homes and hujra.
\nThey appealed to the Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court to give an immediate decision on the case pending in the High Court for two years in this connection. Later on the local body representatives took out a protest rally outside Mardan press club. Large numbers of representatives of different neighborhood and village councils including women councilors participated in the rally.
