{"id":356004,"date":"2023-09-15T01:23:24","date_gmt":"2023-09-14T20:23:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=356004"},"modified":"2023-09-15T01:23:24","modified_gmt":"2023-09-14T20:23:24","slug":"senator-dar-appreciates-support-extended-by-ilo-to-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/senator-dar-appreciates-support-extended-by-ilo-to-pakistan\/","title":{"rendered":"Senator Dar appreciates support extended by ILO to Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> GENEVA<br \/>\nInternational Labour Organization has appreciated the active engagement of Pakistan with the ILO.<br \/>\nDirector General Gilbert F Houngbo expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation from the Senate of Pakistan, led by Leader of the House Senator Ishaq Dar in Geneva Thursday.<br \/>\nThe visiting delegation also apprised the Director General of their keenness to promote greater social justice in the country by improving labour standards and enhancing employability prospects through collaborative efforts by all national stakeholders.<br \/>\nThe delegation is comprising Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Senator Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah and Senator Kamran Murtaza is visiting Geneva to attend the World Trade Organization\u2019s Public Forum at the invitation of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).<br \/>\nDirector General Huongbo appreciated the active engagement of Pakistan with ILO and thanked the delegation for the opportunity to have a candid dialogue with him and his colleagues. He also shared that the current work programme being carried out by the ILO Country Office in Pakistan aims at extending and enhancing technical and advisory support to Pakistan to strengthen its compliance with ILO standards.<br \/>\nOn behalf of the visiting delegation, Senator Ishaq Dar appreciated the support extended by ILO, in particular in the post-flood period. The delegation apprised DG ILO of their keenness to promote greater social justice in the country by improving labor standards and enhancing employability prospects through collaborative efforts by all national stakeholders. The history and current status of social safety net working in Pakistan was also explained by Senator Dar to the DG ILO.<br \/>\nIn addition to participation in the Public Forum, the delegation is scheduled to meet several high-level officials of important international organizations based in Geneva.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GENEVA International Labour Organization has appreciated the active engagement of Pakistan with the ILO.
