\nState Department principal deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel while reacting to Pakistan\u2019s decision to evict the illegal Afghan refugees from the country said that Pakistan has been an important stopover for the Afghan refugees who are fleeing Afghanistan.
\nBriefing the newsmen in Washington, Vedant Patel said: \u201cPakistan has been an important partner when it has come to the resettlement of Afghans who are fleeing and looking to resettle. They\u2019ve been an important stopover in that process and we\u2019ll just leave it at that.\u201d
\nReplying to a question regarding Canada, India tension, Vedant Patel said: \u201cUS is deeply concerned about the allegations referenced by Prime Minister Trudeau, and we remain in regular contact with our Canadian partners. And it\u2019s critical that Canada\u2019s investigation proceed and the perpetrators be brought to justice.\u201d
\nEarlier, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller while briefing the media in Washington said that the Pakistanis have suffered tremendously from terrorist attacks.
\nMatthew Miller said: \u201cThe Pakistanis have suffered tremendously from terrorist attacks. They deserve to practice their faith without fear. We of course offer condolences to families who lost loved ones and a speedy recovery to those who are injured.\u201d
\nHe said that we cooperate with Pakistan in a range of multilateral for a on issues including terrorist designations and global strategies to defeat terrorist groups.
