\nTeachers community demanded the educational highup to reinstate contract base teachers in merged districts, recently sacked by the department.
\nChief of Tanzeem-e-Asateza Pakistan, Landi Kotal chapter Shareefullah Afridi said that on demand of locals to remove deficiency of teaching staff in the government run primary schools, the then government had employed teachers on contract through Parent Teacher Community (PTC) fund.
\nWith provision of additional teachers, state \u2013run schools produced positive results and the initiative also restored parent trust in the government educational institutions, he remarked.
\nHowever, he maintained after two years withdrawing the teacher\u2019s contract was unfair to the poor students being studied in the schools and the decision spread disappointment among them.
\nHe went on to suggest that the government should revise its policy, have mercy on the poor students and restore the contract based teachers in the best interest of the underprivileged citizens of the tribal society.
\nParents and members of civil society expressed their due concern over the anti-poor learners\u2019 policy of the government and said it would certainly derail the quality education process in the state-run schools.
\nThey asked the concerned officials to supply needed teaching staff to the primary schools so that the deprived class of the society could get better educational opportunities.
\nAccording to the local education official, due to lack of funds, the education department discarded contract base teachers.
\nThe service tenure of the sacked teachers was a one year contract and posting on permanent posts would be done to overcome shortage of teachers, he added.
\nIt is to be mentioned here that including 373 teachers in Khyber, temporary services (male and female) of approximately 2122 teachers across the merged districts had been hired across the merged districts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
