\nPolice and administrative officials urged the locals to join hands with them to wipe out sale and use of narcotics especially \u201cIce\u201d and other social diseases among the youth of the area.
\nUnder the auspice of local police station, an open court was organized in jirga hall on Thursday that was attended by Assistant Commissioner,Irshad Mohmand,Station House Officer(SHO)Akbar Afridi,Tehsil Chairman Haji Shah Khalid,Tehsildar Temour Afridi,councillors,tribal elders, political workers and members of civil society were among the participants.
\nAddressing on the occasion AC Irshad Mohmand, Haji Shah Khalid, President local press club Khalil Afridi and others categorically condemned excessive sale and use of Ice and vowed that all initiatives would be adopted to curtain business and use of narcotics.
\nThey maintained that a comprehensive awareness would be necessary to inform laymen of the drawbacks of use of Ice and other narcotics and to guide them to socially boycott those involved in trade of narcotics.
\nFor restricting the demand of narcotics it was obligatory to reduce supply that added and stressed upon parents to closely observe their children so that they would not indulge in anti- social activities.
\nSHO Akbar Afridi assured the audience that the police would never be compromised to curb narcotics trade and use in Landi Kotal and adjacent areas and called upon the masses to provide genuine information pertaining to local smugglers of narcotics.
\nHe went on that they would shun political and officials pressures in the best interest of the people and would eliminate the curse from the tribal society.
