\nA delegation of the cantonment institute of management land administration (CIMLA), Lahore, led by its director Rana Rafiq, called on the provincial minister for technical education and tribal affairs Dr. Aamir Abdullah on Thursday.
\nDuring the meeting, the minister and members of the delegation discussed matters related administration and training and furthering collaboration on matters related to the tribal belt of the province.
\nThe delegation was comprised of additional director Zufshan Manzoor, deputy director Arshad Khan and officers under training of Central Superior Service (CSS) in the institute.
\nThe forum was informed about the historical background of the merged districts and the efforts made by the KP government to put the region on the path of development.
\nThe provincial caretaker minister informed the cantonment institute of management and land administration representatives about the administrative status of the districts under the FCR Act before they were merged into KP.
\nThe Parliament passed the 25th Constitutional Amendment to make these areas a bridge to other parts of the country in the journey of construction and development and to include these areas in the national stream, he said.
\nDr Aamir Abdullah said that the Parliament took this step under the idea that the erstwhile tribal agencies and frontier regions located along the province should have equal rights and responsibilities of citizenship,
\nThe dream could be fulfilled and in this context, construction and development projects have been approved here under Accelerated Implementation Program (AIP) and Annual Development Program (ADP).
\nHe said that the provision of funds at the time of merger for the development of merged districts unfortunately, the promises that were made could not be implemented and the provincial government is taking steps to develop and manage the annexed districts within its own resources.
\n\u201cFor the first time, a separate ministry has been created in the caretaker government for the affairs of these areas,\u201d he said.
\nOn this occasion, the delegation of the training institution was given a comprehensive presentation by the relevant officers regarding all the sub-institutions of the department of industry, science and technical education.
